Although Zara Salazar de Doyle has exhibited in local cafes, this is the first time she is
participating in BEAT. Her background in fashion design has influenced her painting process
and subjects – she loves figures and vibrant holiday scenes; given her an eye for detail and a
deep appreciation for form and movement.
I’m always intrigued by when artists first consider themselves an artist and their responses.
For Zara the moment came when she realised she wasn’t just capturing what she saw but
was also conveying the emotions and stories behind those images. People also started to
connect with her work on a deeper level.
Her most meaningful and joyful moment in her artistic journey to date was her reproduction
of ‘The Annunciation’. “This piece holds a special place in my heart because of its deep
symbolism surrounding maternity. The themes of grace and new life resonated with me
profoundly as I worked on it. Shortly after completing the piece, I became a mother myself,
which made the artwork even more significant.”
We look forward to seeing you at Venue 21+ in your BEAT journey . There are 6 fabulous
artists waiting to say hi and chat about their work. You’ll find us in Melbourne Avenue
opposite Sainsburys in West Ealing. We’ve taken over the back room at the library and have
our own entrance at the back of the library – follow the balloons! Look forward to seeing you.
